Stephen Sheffield is a photographer based in Cohasset, MA. He received a BFA from Cornell University and an MFA from the California College of the Arts. During his time at CCA, he assisted photographers Larry Sultan and Carrie Mae Weems. Sheffield’s work has been exhibited at the Panopticon Gallery, Boston MA; Shelley Hoon Keith Gallery at Curry College, Milton, MA; and the South Shore Art Center, Cohasset, MA. His work has been featured in the Washington Post Magazine, the Boston Globe Magazine, and Black and White Magazine. Since 2013, Sheffield has served as an adjunct professor of photography at New England College. Sheffield counts Ralph Eugene Meatyard, Duane Michals, and Robert Rauchenberg among his greatest artistic influences.
