Pavel Apletin is a photographer based in St. Petersburg, Russia. His work has been exhibited at the ZERNO Gallery, St. Petersburg, Russia; Duncan Miller Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; and The State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia. Apletin’s work is in the permanent collection of The State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia; the Museum of Russian Photography, Kolomna, Russia; and Totma Museum Association, Totma, Russia. He is the author of eight photography books, including the 2020 self-published monograph Old Things of Totma. Apletin serves as exhibitions curator of the Russian Union of Art Photographers, St. Petersburg chapter. Apletin counts Antonello da Messina, Valentin Serov, and Irving Penn among his greatest artistic influences.
